Financial Applications Manager

GateHouse Media, Inc. is seeking a Financial Applications Manager

GateHouse Media is looking for a Financial Applications Manager to support the company’s core financial systems.

Strong candidates will be experienced with financial applications systems covering AP, GL, as well as financial reporting for management and consolidations and will have experience using and implementing modules on these applications.

This position is responsible for supporting the financial systems for the company. The individual in this position must also have experience with financial reporting writers and holds primary responsibility for initial development and ongoing maintenance of application reports. The ideal candidate would have SQL database knowledge and technical expertise. There will IT financial analysts reporting to his position.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written are necessary in the position. The ability to multi-task and prioritize are key to success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support on core financial business applications. Requires a deep understanding of the financial applications as well as the business processes surrounding the applications.

• Help to establish business processes and ensure optimal implementation and utilization of the financial systems. Continually looks for improvement opportunities and leads implementation projects or improvement efforts as changes are identified.

• Works with the business teams to identify reporting needs and develop/code necessary reports. Strong ability to identify business needs and implement technical solutions.

• Coordinate creation and maintenance of application documentation and end-user documentation for financial business applications.

Education

• BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

• MBA or dual-degree highly preferred.

Work Experience

• Requires 8+ years of work experience and 5 years of related financial applications experience.
