The Morning Sun an 8,000+ circulation daily is looking for a talented journalist to join our team. It's an exciting time in Pittsburg, Kan. as we recently underwent a major redesign of our print product and are continuing to revamp our Web site. We are looking for someone with new ideas in print and online, who is not afraid to be aggressive. Qualifications include: a proven sense of news judgment, knowledge of the Associated Press Style book and a passion for the newspaper business. An undergraduate degree and two years of newspaper experience is preferred. Multimedia experience, or a desire to learn, would be a plus. Candidates must be willing to work nights and weekends. Compensation includes an excellent benefits package.
The Morning Sun is located in scenic southeast Kansas - the gateway to the Ozarks. Pittsburg is home to NCAA Div-II football powerhouse Pittsburg State University and is within 2 hours of Kansas City, Tulsa, Wichita and Springfield, MO.
