Job Description
The Senior IT Compliance Analyst will drive Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance at assigned information technology control units. This individual will lead local IT staff to document, test and remediate IT general controls and establish local procedures that ensure compliance with SOX and GateHouse Media IT Policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead current state control environment assessment with a focus on SOX compliance; identify in-scope systems & processes and perform control gap analysis.
- Perform technical assessments to identify system risks requiring SOX remediation.
- Develop and implement control gap remediation plans in partnership with local IT personnel; drive local remediation efforts (including status meetings, task management, project metrics).
- Train local IT personnel on SOX compliance requirements.
- Validate project scope and remediation approach with Director, IT Process & Compliance, internal audit and external audit.
- Tailor GateHouse Media IT General Controls framework to meet the specific needs of a given IT control unit.
- Coordinate with business process team to ensure key control coverage and appropriate segregation of duties.
- Serve as control framework and IT policies subject matter expert; ensure that locally developed IT procedures fulfill documented control objectives
- Perform “hands on” analysis and documentation; conduct interviews, prepare process narratives & flowcharts, and document procedures.
- Conduct periodic compliance tests to ensure that assigned control units are conforming to documented IT policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit to test internal controls over IT processes supporting financial reporting.
- Provide weekly status reports to Director, IT Process & Compliance.
- Travel up to 50%

Requirements
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or related degree required.
- Designation as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or advanced degree preferred.
- 5 to 7 years experience in Information Technology, Internal Audit or Compliance required.
- Demonstrated IT Audit experience and domain experience in one or more of the following: IT governance, compliance, process management, change management.
- Prior experience with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 required, knowledge of COSO and COBIT is desired.
- Demonstrated project management experience (work plan development, resource and task management, status reporting, issue management & resolution) in leading projects impacting multiple organizations and geographies.
- Experience developing and implementing information technology policies and procedures, balancing compliance requirements with service delivery efficiency. Data center operations experience desired with a focus on system security, change management and computer operations.
- Understanding of accounting related controls and related issues. Specific functional knowledge of enterprise wide business systems (e.g. Great Plains, Lawson, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.).
- Qualified candidates must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work independently with little guidance; exhibit good interpersonal skills and cooperative attitude; and practice effective problem-solving analysis and decision making.
