Consumer Sales Managers

GateHouse Media, Inc. is recruiting for Consumer Sales Managers that can lead our local sales efforts to grow revenue and paid volumes. These managers work at a local newspaper site and will closely interact with Local Leadership, Corporate Consumer Marketing and other functional areas of the company to grow consumer revenue. Keys to success are reliant on developing strategic partnerships with vendors and retailers and aligning sales efforts to local product, content and competition in the market.

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and drive the implementation of field-generated start acquisition channels, including kiosk, telemarketing, crews, carriers, DM’s, partnerships with local organizations etc…to drive revenue and volumes growth.   
  2. Understand local audience metrics and trends, and engage closely with the Corporate Consumer Marketing to maximize ROI across each start acquisition channel, consistently adjusting plans based on the analytics and results.  
  3. Work cohesively with local Marketing and Corporate Consumer Marketing on developing effective creative, call-to-action and sales offer details for direct response and field sales programs.
  4. Responsible for strategically driving and integrating digital subscription sales into the everyday sales process with an eye on both revenue and total unit growth. 
  5. Drive retail sales by developing partnerships with convenience stores, supermarkets and other high volume outlets.   
  6. Work closely with field operations to make sure that retail location draw management, product placement and display is maximized in each market. 

Skills and Specifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. 3-5 years of sales experience 
  3. Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  4. Digital savvy
  5. Proven track record of goal achievement
